Available products and services

The following options are available at Purdue University:

  • Bedloft Rental
  • Loft Ladder Rental
  • Loft Shelf Rental
  • Futon Purchase
  • Rug Purchase

Availability may vary by residence hall, room, or housing assignment. Only products displayed for the student’s eligible residence hall on the collection page may be ordered. Please refer to https://www.ohio.edu/housing/bedlofts for additional details on lofting at Ohio University.

Most OHIO beds can be lifted, which means the height of the bed can be adjusted up and down the bed frame.* Most OHIO beds can allow for 24 inches of space if the bed is lifted to the highest level. Students can request for the height of their bed to be adjusted by Facilities staff. During fall move-in, Facilities will make rounds of the halls and will complete any requests. Students can place their name on a list at the staff office for this. After move-in and during the year, students can place a work order to have the bed lowered or raised.

Delivery and installation

Orders placed by July 28th, 2026 are expected to be delivered prior to official freshman move-in.

Some details to note:

  • All loft pre-orders will be delivered and assembled by our team and will come with a safety rail and support bar. Orders placed after the pre-order deadline with need to be assembled by the student.
  • When you move-in, please verify that you have received all items ordered.
    • If you have not received your rental/purchased items, please submit a service ticket on our Help Center and a member of our team will take care of you from there. Deliveries are typically done by appointment, so when the time comes to arrange an appointment, a member of our operations team will text to confirm a date and time.
  • If you receive a hall and/or room change, submit as service ticket as soon as possible so our team may update your account and notify our operations team of the change. We will communicate what the next steps are at that time.

To assemble a rented loft from Bedloft.com, follow these directions:

  1. Clear the area in front of and beside the university-provided bed to provide enough space for assembly.

  2. Remove the mattress from the university-provided bed and set it aside.

  3. Position the two loft end-pieces at the head and foot of the university bed, making sure the loft cups are in place.

  4. Attach the bottom brace to both loft end-pieces.

  5. Tighten the wing nuts on the bottom brace to secure the loft frame.

  6. Position the assembled loft so the university-provided bed can be lifted into place.

  7. Lift the university-provided bed up and place it securely into the loft cups on both end-pieces. Make sure the bed is fully seated in each cup before continuing.

  8. Carefully reposition the assembled loft and bed into the desired location in the room.

  9. Place the mattress back onto the university-provided bed.

  10. Install the safety rail and confirm that the loft, bed, brace, and safety rail are secure before use.

Orders placed after July 28, 2026 will be fulfilled through on-site pickup rather than pre-move-in room delivery.
